Just 30 kilometres from Koh Samui, Ang Thong Marine Park feels like a different world. A speedboat gets you there in around an hour, giving you more time among the islands and less time travelling. Most tours begin with a snorkelling stop before continuing to Koh Mae Ko, home to the famous Emerald Lagoon. A staircase leads to a viewing platform above this remarkable saltwater lake, surrounded on every side by steep limestone cliffs. The lagoon is viewed from above rather than entered, but the climb is worth it for the scenery.

Pickup window07:30–08:30Your driver will meet you at your accommodation at the confirmed pickup time. Travel by air-conditioned minivan to the departure pier in northern Koh Samui.
Check in for the tour and enjoy a breakfast snack with coffee, tea or water while the crew prepares the boat.
Board the shaded speedboat and head west towards Ang Thong Marine Park. The crossing takes about one hour. You can sit beneath the canopy or choose a sunnier seat towards the front.
Make the first stop near Koh Wao for snorkelling with the supplied mask and snorkel. If you prefer to stay out of the water, relax and take in the island scenery until the group continues.
Continue to Koh Mae Ko, home to the vivid Emerald Lagoon, also known as Talay Nai. Climb the stairway to the viewing platform above the lake, or remain near the shore for swimming and kayaking along the island’s sheltered coastline.
A short boat ride brings you to Koh Wua Talap. Join the steep climb towards the panoramic viewpoint or stay closer to the beach. A Thai buffet lunch is served, followed by free time for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking or relaxing on the sand.
Leave the park for the one-hour ride back to Koh Samui. Settle into your seat and enjoy the open-water views on the way to the pier.

Pickup is early. The van has other hotels to collect before yours, so expect roughly eight hours door to door. There's a briefing at the pier, then the run out. After that it's the lagoon viewpoint, the Wua Talap climb, swimming, a kayak session and a buffet lunch somewhere in the middle. Your guide walks you through the snorkel and kayak gear, which helps if you've never used either. Stop order shifts with the wind and with whatever the park says that morning. A crew that reshuffles the route is reading the sea properly, not short-changing you.
FAQs
For lunch during the Angthong Marine Park tour you can expect a delicious Thai-style buffet. You’ll have several (halal) choices like a curry, Pad Thai, stir fried, chicken & eggs and a dessert. The food is halal. If you have any specific food allergies, please let us know prior to booking this tour.
The breakfast isn’t too extensive, it’s smart to have a decent breakfast at your hotel or villa prior to the pickup. On the pier you’ll find coffee, tea and water and a small selection of snacks to get your day started.
The best time to visit Angthong Marine Park is just after the rainy season between February and March. The temperatures are pleasant: blue skies and calm waters (apart from a rare weather disruption). The months of April and May are sunny and hot, while the summer is a bit cooler. Our Angthong Marine Park tour is not possible during most of the rainy season, between 1 November and 15 December as the park is closed during that time.
The viewpoint of Angthong Marine Park can be reached after a quite intensive climb up. The road up can be challenging to small children and elderly persons. Please make sure to wear sensible footwear and hold on the available tight ropes at all times. The climb up takes about 15 minutes and is totally worth it: the views from the top are stunning!
Yes. Cancelling or moving your booking to another date is free up to 24 hours before the tour starts, and anything you have paid is refunded in full. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start time are non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded. If we have to cancel, for example for weather or safety, you can move to another date or take a full refund.

The trip was beautiful. But what was even more beautiful were the guides that made sure everybody is feeling well and are hydrated. They even handed out drinks on the first trail and sat at the start of the seccond trail making sure everybody is taking at least one bottle of water to the hike. The seccond hike is really exhausting, but the view is worth it. We only hiked to the second highest point since the view is kind of the same as the highest point as several other hikers told us. 10/10 we would do it again

Wir haben als siebenköpfige Familie das Speedbooterlebnis in der Großgruppe gebucht wurden anfangs der falschen Gruppe zugeteilt und saßen im falschen, bereits auslaufenden Boot. Wir erhielten als Ersatz dafür als „upgrade“ eine private Speedboottour nur für uns, das war super! Die Bootsfahrt ist eine wilde Sache, man wird ordentlich durchgeschüttelt und das je eine Stunde. Der Aufstieg zur Lagune und zum Aussichtspunkt sind beide anstrengend. Wer mit Flipflops geht bereut sicher, es ist wie bergsteigen, man braucht jedenfalls Turnschuhe für die vielen ziemlich hohen Geländestufen. Der Hinweis unseres Guides, wir können eh die Badeschlapfen anlassen, war völlig verkehrt. Glücklicherweise habe die ch mir davor was durchgelesen. Das Mittagessen war nicht gut. Fütterung von Bootstouristen, wir wurden nicht einmal gefragt ob wir etwas anderes als das bereitgestellte Wasser bestellen möchten. Das Kajakfahren war ein schönes Erlebnis. Zum Schluss fuhren wir an einen entlegenen Platz zum Schnorcheln und haben wirklich coole Fische gesehen. Wir wurden dann direkt mit dem Boot zum Hotel gebracht. Pluspunkte bekommt die private Tour für das Programm, das sehr abwechslungsreich war. Ebenso der „Knecht“ am Boot, der immer alles hergerichtet hat und die Schuhe eingesammelt hat. Der war sehr aufmerksam und fleißig. Minuspunkte bekommt das Mittagessen und leider auch der Guide. Er war zwar freundlich aber seine Tips für den Aufstieg waren wirklich schlecht und er hat absolut nichts erklärt. Der Infotafel konnte man mehr entnehmen als seinen zwei Sätzen. Wer Action möchte, für den passt die Tour sicher. Unseren Kindern hat es gut gefallen und wir haben alle einen Muskelkater.
